文章结合个体心理学家阿德勒的"自卑情结"与女性主义理论,解读迈尔斯·弗兰克林和其代表作《我的光辉生涯》中的女主人公西比拉·梅尔文反抗父权背后的深层心理动因,说明了她们的叛逆和反抗在一定程度上与其因在外貌、性别和缺乏关爱及教育等方面的劣势而产生的自卑感密切相关。正是为了补偿自卑感而追求成功的努力成就了此小说,而过分追求优越的情结也造成了西比拉的过度敏感和矛盾抗争。
Abstract：Based on Alfred Adler's theories of Inferiority Complex and some feminist theories,this paper argues that Miles Franklin and her heroine Sybylla Melvyn's rebellion in the novel My Brilliant Career,is to some extent,inseparable from their inferiority feeling on their physical appearances,gender as well as the lack of love and education.It is just the efforts to compensate this inferiority that contribute to the creation of the novel,while the overcompensation leads to Sybylla's oversensitivity and contradictious rebellion.
